No, I never go anywhere with out my car. When I want to leave I want to have it and not be at the mercy of someone else.

I took a Waymo test ride. But there was someone in the driver seat they didn't drive though.

All modern cars have computers. Also seems like the most irrational fear of all time

Sure, I've ridden plenty in Tesla's supervised self driving. I don't think its ready to be fully rolled out without steering wheels and such yet, but its close. I can't wait until it is. Waiting on that for my next vehicle so I don't ever have to drive again.

Yes, I definitely would. Driverless cars are a testament to the rapid rise of AI this century. It may turn out that we were far ahead of the rest of the world when we developed our road system rather than a train network.

We can keep our individuality and comfort by using driverless cars whereas the rest of the world has to cram into trains like sardines. I wouldn’t want them to replace driven cars, however. We’ve always been a nation of individual options and I see driverless cars as just another choice to get from point a to b.

Eventually I could see mass adoption to where few people actually drive. If you don't have to then why would you?

They seem to be doing well in the cities that allow driverless cars, including Atlanta. I wish I still lived down there. I’d use them frequently.

Without hesitation. When I was in LA back in March ,Waymos were everywhere. They drive better than most actual humans. And you don't hear about many accidents involving them. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I was watching them in Frisco last month. Every move was textbook. Speed, blinkers, turning etc was spot on.

In a Louisiana summer heavy rain thunderstorm or winter dense fog that half or fully blinds the sensors imaging the outside world around the car? Defaulting to a DGPS guided data base?

No.

Pretty much. That's why I don't think they'll ever get rid of steering wheels and pedals. There are plenty of reasons for human intervention with these.

Yes

I, for one, welcome our new driverless overlords.
