Had an exterior paint job yesterday and as the guys were leaving, two of them got into a scuffle in my driveway. Lasted about three seconds before the third guy ran up and broke them up. They left right after.

My wife was mortified and said we need to report them to the contractor. I thought the paint job looked great and what’s a bit of a brouhaha after painting in miserable summer heat?

What say the OT?

I would bet that the contractor would feign shock when informed and then whoever answered the phone and the crew would get a chuckle out of it when they went back to the shop. They did a good job, a good painter is harder to find than a customer.....

People fight sometimes

But of course, it’s always white women that freak out for no reason.

Report this?

NO.

Report walking in on the dry wall team sharing a meth pipe in my kitchen? YES. Worst part were the frickers sitting on the pile of drywall panels and they busted the edges. Told them to get the frick out.

I worked construction a long time. Fights happened all the time. What's the big deal?

Has your wife never encountered carpenters, painters, roofers, and the like? A little blue collar scrapping doesn't even move the needle.

I had 2 electricians get in a pretty serious fist fight once over a hilti hammer. GCs project manager was apoplectic...wanted them gone right quick. I told him I wouldn't have an employee who wouldn't fight over using a tool, most of them wanted to fight if you suggested they use one. It being a T&M project he saw the wisdom in that thinking and dropped it......

What would be a fun experiment is to see how old gal deported herself after 8 - 10 hours in 100 degree heat.....scuffling is far better than shooting a bunch of people 'cause you are suffering from heat stroke....

Ask your wife, what the optimal outcome of you letting the contractor know what happened? What ideally would she want him to do?

If she’s reasonable she’ll just drop it.

You got a great paint job and a free painter baw street fight through in as an extra for your enjoyment? I don’t see the problem.

Sounds like the third guy settled it. As far as you and your wife know, everything's right as rain.

I'd just leave it alone and be grateful you and your wife aren't the ones out painting houses.

It’s none of her business if it happened after your job was completed and the work is well done. Tell her to find something constructive to focus on.

Tell your wife you reported them and the contractor said they always do that.... it's their way of saying goodbye each day.
