I've had a couple of old muscle car over the last 15 yrs
(67 mustang, 68 mustang and 72 c10)
of course i've enjoyed driving and modifying them
they just don't have the "comforts" or safety of modern cars no matter what you do to them, but then again
there's a feeling driving that classic down the road that you cant explain to someone that hasn't had to put on torque wrench on a head bolt
i never should have sold this!

This was my dad's first car. He worked at a paint and body shop starting at 14 yrs old and saved up to buy it. He sold it so that he could pay for college. I'm hoping one day I can buy another one for him.
My Dad has a '70 Cutlass for a short while when I was around 10 years old, and I remember thinking how much cooler it looked than most of the other "family" cars we'd always owned. I'd love to one day own a '70 442, but yes, they are out of my price range currently.
So I have a restored '70 Cutlass S w/the Rocket 350 for now... Love it.

I am not a car guy but I would prefer something older.

I'm looking forward to the new mid engine vette. Ferrari/Lambo like at under $200k.

I'm a Ford guy through and through but this will be my next project. I fell in love with this Firebird at CTC 2010.

My suggestion of quote:67 camaro z/28 with the 302. Had plenty
It came with 290. They had 4 options with more, but only two with substantially more.

1967 Corvette L88
Great for track, a chore to drive on the street. I say that after driving an original L88. I much rather the 68/69 lines better.

vs.
I know someone who has a black COPO Camaro. Thing is ungodly bad arse

what was the actual HP on the L88? I've read it was downplayed but had 500+
Posted on 4/27/16 at 10:18 am to CatsGoneWild
Late 60's Mustang with the Cobra Jet or a '70 Chevelle.

It was listed at 430hp. What GM didn't say was that figure was at 4200rpms. the engine would wind out to 7k+.
Actual HP was around 560hp.

It certainly was. GM did not want this engine on the street. Notorious for overheating, 103 octane required, no fan shroud, radio delete. Air conditioning?...forget about it.

I want a 964, so 1989 sounds about perfect for me. Rather an early 90s example, but as long as it's a hardtop 964 I'd be happy.

2016 Mustang GT350 might be the best road car Ford has ever made. I'll take modern technology and improved HP over nostalgic old cars any day.

old.
mechanical age > digital age.
i want to actually be able to work on my vehicle and not have to junk the thing in 5 years when the computer-controlled issues cost more than its worth to fix.
