re: Would you let your 5 year old play in a youth league game with low grade fever?

Seriously? That's a pretty high fever, even if she doesn't feel bad. No way I'd let her play.
If it was low grade and she felt fine, then maybe, but still probably not.

It’s not that I want her play sick, it’s that I don’t trust these cheap thermometers. She is running around like she feels great. Below 100 seems safe since the doctor says to not even give medicine unless it hits 100. She is really upset for missing her first basketball game.
The main thing that gives me pause is if she could spread whatever she has even though the school has sick kids almost everyday that they can’t send home because of parents being unavailable.

If you have to come to the OT to ask this question you should not be a parent.

I understand he’s the second coming of Barry Bonds but no, unless there is a MILF there you’re after

eta- although I can't tell from your post whether she was over 100 this time or for the last game.
Yeah I worded the OP wrong. During the middle of the night, my wife said her fever was like 101.8. But it’s been around 99.3 all morning. I was asking if her fever is below 100, would it be ok to play?

101.8, hell no.
99.3, suit up.
99.3, suit up.

Rule of thumb is that you keep them isolated and in a bubble until they can go 24 hours with no fever.

Just tell her not to drink too much, might make her nauseous during the game.

You should be slapped. This game means less than the game she could play on Nintendo
You’d risk infecting everyone she came into contact with...for...what?
She’s 5. Go hit the ball in the back yard and then give her ice cream and watch a movie together

I don’t think you have a thermometer to accurately measure a half degree of fever accurately.

Is this after taking fever reducing meds?
If not, she's fine to play.

Yeah jackass.. Let your 5 year old spread what she has around to the other kids. If she has fever she needs to be resting.

No man, I'd be pissed as another dad on the team. Keep that coronavirus to yourself!

My neighbor just got home and he is a doctor. I asked him this and he came over and checked her. He said to let that girl go play in her game and that she is fine. He said you can’t trust these thermometers, especially checking a child’s temp while they are sleeping.
I checked my temperature twice and my wife checked her own. It was always between 98.0 and 100.0

No, and if you have to ask you need supervision as a parent.
