I made a facebook post a few days after Obama won his first election about how that was the single biggest act of racism in our country history (single being most people involved in one event) because millions voted for/against Obama due to his skin color with no knowledge of his bullet points or campaign promises. It was either "we gotta vote for first black president" or "I'm not voting a *insert bad word here* in" for much of the country.

And let me tell you.... The amount of people pissed off by that post back then... If it was today, I'm sure my boss would get hate mail on me.

I've had Facebook since 2005 and can honestly say no, I wouldn't get cancelled.

TD would be a different story though.

This. Rules constantly change.

I use Facebook only as a Rolodex so there's nothing on there. I never had Twitter or Instagram or Snapchat.

Someone with a particular grudge against me could definitely find something here - just pointing out Kaepernick's stats his last two seasons would offend the outrage mob. And I'm sure I've made jokes that look a lot more offensive out of context.

So this might allow you to sue after the fact but I guarantee you that information covered under an NDA has been outed already if it has been deemed "racist".

This probably doesn't apply to you....but that's not to say that it couldn't.

Yes, most definitely. Then again, I’m white so that’s basis enough to get canceled.

Facebook became popular to non college members when I was in high school so I'm positive there is something stupid I've said on there. My profile has been private for years now so if someone really cares that much they can go for it.

The thing about being cancelled is, all that needs to happen is the right person wanting you to be “cancelled”. It isn’t some sort of trial where the evidence is presented and the party judged based on the merit of that.

It is you are guilty of wrongthink and they will find sufficient evidence to destroy you.

I've had a FB account since 2004. There is almost assuredly something dumb that I posted a long time ago that would probably get me "cancelled" in some way.

Go through your activity log, starting at the beginning, and delete the crap you don’t want to resurface. It will take a while but it will be worth it. I don’t think anyone should have to do this but it’s the world we live in unfortunately.

I went to one those "gangsta" parties in college where all the middle class white people dressed ghetto and drank Old English and Hypnotiq. I'm sure if someone found all those pics I'd get cancelled.

I don't have any Social Media accounts, but I'll say this:

I can't WAIT til someone who gets Doxxed by some of these azzholes tracks them down in the real world and gets their revenge in a very, very raw and permanent way.

I think I was over 30 when I first got a FB account. I still probably said something stupid on there when I was drinking one night. I deleted it several years ago though.

It's much easier to do this by downloading your entire Facebook contents. It takes a few hours for Facebook to give you the Zip when you request it. But it's a nicely packaged directory of your Facebook Existence.
You can key word search through the folders and easily eyeball them by date.
Then you can find that post on the live Facebook and delete it.

I also found the feature where you can see everything you've ever commented, and it's not what you want to see. Best to never get famous and not have to worry about it.
