Yes. I didn't miss having Canadian cents when we were up there on a trip (used all CAD cash while there). It's very efficient just to round up or down at checkout.

It’s the semi colon we need to get rid of. It doesn’t have the stopping power of a real colon. Stronger than a comma? So what, a question mark can whip a comma’s arse.

I’ve favored their elimination for 30 years. Useless.

I'm okay with it. But the guy who came up with the phrase "A pennny for your thoughts" is steaming mad.

No. Need to completely deflate the currency and start over. A penny should buy a soft drink.

Deflation is just as risky as inflation. It’s not like your mortgage balance would be modified, but your income would likely drop.

Buckle up. Unless a president has the sack to cut spending and remove regulation hindering the economy then we are headed to a Weimar Republic situation.

I think a nickel costs 6 cents to make.

Yes and while you’re at it get rid of nickels and dimes too. There’s no reason we can’t round up or down to a quarter for all transactions. Plus we wouldn’t have to pay for having 3 additional coins in circulation which are basically worthless.

Do you really think anyone will be rounding down? The only time that'll happen is on payday. I don't care if the coins exist, but the system in cents needs to stay.

At the rate we are going, we may just need to drop all change.

And start the presses on the new 500, 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000 dollar bills.

So if you want the penney eliminated, you have no problem paying ten cents for something that's worth only six cents.

I would favor the elimination of physical money in general. At the very least no transactions in smaller increments than $1.

There's no need to be doing all this moving money around, carrying it around, losing it in the couch, etc. We have the technology.
