I led 5 pitches in Clear Creek yesterday with the hardest being 10C. Today I am going to pull on some V4-V5's in Morrison. Next week I will be in Tahoe riding multiple feet of powder. I can skin my arse up and ride down the biggest of mountains on my splitboard. Yes, you probably can bench press more and I know that carries a lot of weight with you baws. I commend you on that

Not today though. I'm kinda sore from a 5 mile mud race I ran yesterday. I'm about to head over to the masseuse for a deep muscle and stretching

I saw the pics from that last night while browsing my fb wall. Your kids look like they had as much fun as you did playing in the mud

I would definitely move out of the South, and there are only a few certain cities where I would live in the South.

We moved to a better southern state in North Carolina back in September from Louisiana. 30-45mins from various mountain hikes, 1hr 15mins to the blue ridge mountains in NC or less if I head up to Virginia, 2hrs from Asheville, 3.5 hrs to the beach and probably 4.5 hrs to the outer banks beaches. We love it so far and plan on being here a long time and maybe even moving into the mountains in a few years.

Santa Fe is near the top of my list of places I would live. Wonderful town and area.

I'm not sure if I'll permanently stay here in Colorado, tough I really like it. But my family had always been a huge part of my life, and it really sucks not having any of them for 1500+ miles.
I also miss my friends in New Orleans. I miss parading and playing music that town. I've found a couple bands and music gigs around Colorado, but it's not as fun as in Nola. It's a corrupt, crime ridden, poorly maintained shite hole. But it still has me by the heart strings.
It would be nice to be able to snowbird between the two places.

Santa Fe is a nice area, but I was shocked by the amount of poor Mexicans/Indians. The meth vibe portrayed in Breaking Bad is spot on.

You talking about Albuquerque or Santa Fe? Agree Albuquerque has some seedy areas but Santa Fe and Taos are both upscale.

I've been out of the south for a while now, and no matter how much I love my life, I still miss it, and hope to resettle in Louisiana again one day.

I was in Santa Fe last June and there were seedy folks everywhere (and I'm not a coddled person that considers all minorities seedy). Hadn't been before and it surprised me. Agreed with Taos being upscale, in my experience.

That is the southwestern states for ya though. Hispanics and native Americans are the major minority populations in these states.
Drive through an Indian reservation in northern AZ and you will think you travelled to a third world country, the amount of poverty is horrible. Real poverty as in "we don't have running water in our homes" poverty.....not "Damn Popeyes won't take my food stamps" poverty. I live near the border of Scottsdale and Salt River Reservation land. The difference is very apparent just by crossing the street into the residential areas of the rez(commercial areas are different.....they are leasing that land for $$$$$ to businesses wanting the proximity of Scottsdale).

Sorry you had a bad experience. I've been there 5 times and had nothing but great experiences. I love the culture and laid back vibe of the city.
