Idaho, or in the Pacific Northwest.
Screw Cali... But Montana or Idaho or Wash, Oregon I could live there in a heartbeat....

Would love to move to Utah/Colorado area or North Carolina/Virginia area

Don't get me wrong...there are foods that I make sure to have whenever I come to visit LA to see friends/family. However....it's not like when I did live in LA that I was eating boudin and red beans and rice and jambalaya for every single meal anyways. And you are right....you find other foods in the new region you are at to enjoy. Louisiana certainly has a type of cuisine that is well known and loved by many....but to not move and have food as one of your top reasons for that....just seems kinda silly. My quality of life revolves around more than just food.
Having lived in West Virginia and Ohio, I really really appreciate that people season their food in South La. Those states are where the "white people don't season their food" stereotypes come from. The food was fricking terrible and bland.
I know how to cook most of the Cajun things I love so I'd be fine but I'd miss the shite out of boudin and cracklins for sure.

They'd think you were being ironically white trash in Portland. You'd be fine.

Has not been the case here thankfully. I've always loved Mexican food and living here I have been exposed to amazing Mexican cuisine.

I've got a hundred acres in Wyoming that I am building a cabin on this year as my summer retreat but won't move there

Northern Cali and the Sierra Nevadas are the best outdoors in America, imo. I'd love to live in Chico or Folsom but I would need a decent job there or one that lets me work remotely.
It's less about humidity and more about the dew points. 70% humidity out west is not the same as 70% humidity in the South.
Wyoming is amazing but is just too fricking cold.

I am sure its awesome... But it costs to much and I don't like that an earthquake can hit at anytime and the earth can swallow me up.....

Serious earthquakes in Folsom or in all of the Sierra Nevadas? You are very ignorant.

I know if you are predicting a major earthquake in Folsom that it's 100% guaranteed to never happen.

Phoenix is the least interesting place out West. Not sure if it has any perks besides proximity to beautiful places.
Fresno holds that title. Phoenix is awesome.

I would, but that's not ideally what I would like to do.
Ideally, I would never move from Memphis, and while that's technically answering the OP in the affirmative, it has little to do with the South as a geographic concept.

Born in the South and have moved away twice.
Once to Chicago (which was horrible) and now to the northern shore of the Ohio River.
I don't think I'm going to return.

I sure would. Lived in Austin which is similar to living in San Francisco. I would never live in California though. They are too backwards in their way of thinking.

Austin is in the south, or at least on the edge of it. Also, just because there are some liberals and Californians in Austin doesn't mean it is like San Francisco. It is very much a Texan city.

Nope. The south is awesome. The best food, women and low taxes.
