Derp, 7 minutes!
You and I are the only ones who apparently value our time correctly!

$300? Hmmm...... yeah. Savings of $250 when gas thrown in.

How much is your time worth, wear and tear on your vehicle, cost of fuel, etc.
Not worth it in my opinion.

I flew to Oklahoma City to save $700 on my vehicle. Airline ticket cost me about $300. It was back in 2000, so internet and shipping vehicles wasn’t a big thing. I wanted a certain color, engine size, manual transmission, etc. I called dealerships all over the southeast and no one seemed to be willing to help me get what I wanted. I called a place in OKC and said I want this and I will pay this. The guy said, I don’t have one but will get it by the end of the week. It was kinda fun flying up there to pick up a vehicle I had never seen and driving it home. It is still my daily driver and has about 250,000 miles on it.

You buying a vehicle from a far away dealership or something?
I've don't that before, but I saved $2500 ish. Drove 3.5 hours each way.

I did it one time because a local dealer would not match the price of another dealer out of town. They thought I would not do it (it was for $500, though).
I drove to the other dealer out of principle.

Unless I was helping out a buddy out with something, doubtful.

For 7 hours of driving?
To OP.
Yes, because I like driving.
I've driven to Miami to buy something I could have had shipped for 200 bucks

Can't ship, too large and heavy.
If we are really getting into the details here, that could have a material impact on your mileage on the return trip too.
Definitely needs to be factored in if you value your time at or around $35/hr

How much is the original price?
$300 savings on a $350 item? Yes
$300 savings on a $35,000 item? Nah

Where do you live, is it legal? I’ll do it for cheaper since your lazy af. And yes I’d do it

Deduct the price if gas. And since you're most likely going to get hungry, count buying a meal on the road.
Then see if the savings are worth your time.

Actually, better way to answer the question:
If someone offered you $300 to make the same drive woukd you take it?

Not worth your time at that amount.
I once booked a flight with a layover in order to save a modest amount of money on the ticket. Wound up spending the difference on over priced drinks at the airport bar during the layover. Lesson learned.

This flawed logic and far too prevalent inability to do basic math is why people become Uber drivers and make less than minimum wage. Value your time wisely, people!
$300 gross
$(245.70) - IRS mileage rate $0.585 x 420 miles
$54.30 net for 7 hours = $7.75/hour
Subtract 15.3% self employment tax and estimated withholding for income tax if you’re a ride share driver and you’re far below minimum wage.

Depends on the drive.
Do this..take $150 of the $300 and stop somewhere along the way and treat yourself to something else.
