I am for sure. The funeral process is the biggest racket in the history of man. Pay thousands of dollars to embalm your body and buy a fancy casket and tomb to use for about 30 minutes and then cover it all in dirt.
Or you could let a bunch of Med students use your body to gain the foundation for which they will treat thousands of people and maybe one of them will discover a cure for some rare disease.
No brainer IMO

ETA: Dad has been through the process and returned ashes to us and Mom and I are both signed up too: Genesis Legacy out of Memphis. No cost to survivors at all, they arrange transportation and everything, Dad was used for over 60 separate procedures testing implements, teaching tool, practice for surgeons.

As a scientist, i'll do what i can do to help advance knowledge and capabilities past where they are currently. If that means helping some doctors or med students with my deceased body, then i'm for it. My yaya (grandma) did this when she passed as well

no bc I don't want to be near death and give docs any reasons not to keep me alive, though I would certainly ok if it was to save one of my kids.

Yeah. I don't really care what happens to my body after death. If it can help people then it might as well. I think it takes some forethought and setting stuff up to work that out though. I'm currently an organ donor, and that's good enough.

I did, but took it back as my SO wants to have a wake for me. An embalmed body cannot be donated (at least at Georgetown). Plus, since I smoked for so long I will probably have some kind of cancer, which is also a disqualifier for donation.
So I've donated whatever organs they can use. If the SO dumps me or pre-deceases me if we're still together, I'll donate it again.
I see no reason not to give up the corpse or as much as it that can be used for whatever purpose once I'm dead.
When they're done with whatever they can use, just cremate me.

they can use a lot more than just organs baw, and you can still have a wake, don't need a corpse for a party, well, for some parties you do

A lot of these bodies that are donated to science are sold as cadavers to medical device companies for labs and rep training

My dad donated his body to LSU when he passed about 4 years ago. We just got his ashes back a couple of weeks back.

A neighbor died of a rare hereditary disease. She was intelligent and suffered for several decades before a correct diagnosis. She chose to donate her body and we all hoped that that donation would help others with the same disease.

Once I’m gone I really don’t care about what happens, but the thought of my parents being cadavers completely pisses me off.
