Toyota for sure. Generally speaking I’d go one owner and be evaluating the owner on inspection as much as the vehicle

It has been serving me well ever since i picked it up off a used car lot in 2020 for $6k cash.
Should be able to get at least 400k out of that one with proper maintenance.

I dunno, I prob would want to go with a Tundra if I was in that situation.

No, I wouldn't get rid of a truck that had 100k but I wouldn't buy one that already had 100K

Toyota Tundra, properly maintained, absolutely. My every day driver is an 05 Tundra with 205K miles and I’d drive across the country tomorrow in it with no hesitation - but I am the original owner and the vehicle is maintained and I have/keep all service records.

A Tundra with the 4.7 is damn near bullet proof as long as you change the timing belt every 125,000 miles.
Those yes no problem.
An F150 with the 4.6, yes no problem weak but last forever and cheap to fix. Anything with more than 5-6 gears, no. Those 10 speed transmissions have been shite and I don't want a forced induction motor either. V8 or 6.

I've had a broken rear axle twice in less than 60k miles

I got a 2015 Ram 1500 a few years back with 133,000 miles on it at the time. Just hit 194,000 and it is running like a top. General maintenance is key and I recently had to change the water pump but I am gonna keep this thing running for as long as possible.

Depends on the kind of truck and price.
I have a Tundra with 315+k miles on it. I drive it from GA to NM last year, and may do it again in a couple of weeks. The V8s are pretty bullet proof and this one has just had regular oil changes and maintenance.
Typically, I would try to buy used at under 60k, but a V8 Tundra with 100k and a clean title would not bother me. Now, if it came from up north, I would look for rust. Get it inspected.

I've always had 'murcan trucks but I'm going to take a look at this while I'm shopping

Ram still gets bad rep
Mine is a 2021 with 120k miles
Never a single problem. Previous truck was a f 150. It was a POS. Never had a GM truck so don’t know. Unless something happens I’ll stick with Ram

I bought one with 211K as a daily last year. Great truck. Of course it's a 2006 Toyota Tundra with the venerable, if slightly underpowered, 4.7L 2UZ engine. There's a dude on one of my FB groups that just rolled 866K on his 2004.

Is just a Tundra with a SUV body. It'll last forever if you do your part.

yup, the 2UZ is pretty bullet proof.

How can I purchase a new truck with doll hairs?
Posted on 10/7/24 at 11:15 am to Dtbtiger
I bought a 19 Tundra 5.7L (1794 Edition) with 80k miles for $34k before TTL. Didn't even bat an eye at buying this old dude's commuter truck. Kept it clean and maintained regularly. I expect to put 170k more miles on it over the next decade or so.

My 05 Toyota Tundra was manufactured in Fort Wayne Indiana with 55% American made parts (at least that what it says on the sticker). That might be more “American” than many Ford, GMC or Chrysler trucks nowadays.

Did it a couple of times. Old employer used to let the employees bid on trucks over 100,000 + miles on em - if noone did they had an arrangement with the chevy dealer to come buy them back. They came in and went through them all and set a minimum bid beforehand.I put prolly another 160,000 + on each and sold them
