Would you be comfortable traveling on a rural Interstate with a speed limit of 90?

Think of places that we have put a 75 mph speed limit and make it 90, would you feel comfortable driving on it? I think it would be just fine.

No. But I'm not comfortable driving that fast anywhere.

Texas has the 85 mph toll road at my (at the time) 2001 Civic couldn’t get up that high without shaking.

Of course. The OT is composed mostly of drivers who would be racing professionally, if it weren't for that knee injury.

I drove on that road in Mitsubishi G4 (rental). That bitch was about to fall apart at 80 after the 2 minutes that it took to get there

Me with both hands on the wheel and no distractions can drive 90 no problem. Me with a phone ringing, checking nav, kids yelling in the back, might as well call the mortuary

Sure would. I barely go below 90 on those rural interstates and highways.

The Libertarian in me says there should be no posted speed limits. If you can travel safely on any government-subsidized road without impeding anyone else, you should not be molested by the government on their dime.

I got up to 100 for a stretch of deserted highway in Montana one time. I was comfortable but I felt like I had to keep extreme focus the entire time far more than even at 70.

As long as it's in rural areas, sure.

In highly traveled areas? frick no. I drive in Atlanta traffic with some maniacal fricks. I don't know how the crotch rocket dicks or the dudes in expensive sports cars going 90+ don't die.

Much of West Texas is 85mph. The stretch from Midland/Odessa to El Paso averages 90mph
