Would you appreciate a more environmentally friendly approach to mardi gras throws?

Recycled beads and 'usable' throws aim to cut down on Mardi Gras garbage
I think the only thing we ever keep from throws are the cups anyway.

Red beans and rice, jambalaya, coffee and toothbrushes might not seem to have a lot in common with Carnival -- until you realize they’ll fly off of some floats this season.

It’s all part of move by the city and some krewes to have a greener Carnival.
The throws from the Grounds Krewe are pack in sealed bags and then put into fiber bags that look similar to potato sacks.
“It’s being wise with the choice of material we use,” said Brett Davis, the group’s director.
The City Council is in the final phases of writing an ordinance that would ban plastic bags from being tossed off of floats before, during or after parades.
The idea behind the Grounds Krewe’s throws is similar: possibly fewer plastic beads on the streets and in the gutters.
Cups they sell to krewe members are made from recycled products, and toothbrushes are biodegradable.

Sure, as long as it doesn't make Mardi Gras lame

Will they charge less for recycled throws?

Actually I'd prefer if the panties I catch are recycled

The GOAT catch as a 10-12 year old. The only thing possibly better would be the titty beads.
Also 10 year old me had no idea how those panties were supposed to be worn. Very confusing times. Then I got the internet.

What about biodegradable beads? Or water soluble beads?

Ramen is a great throw. Cheap, flies like a frisbee, cheap, people seem to love them, cheap

That's a really good question. I know that we have a lot of riders here in some of the bigger krewes. Maybe they can shed some light on what they spend annually on throws.
Here is what I could find on the grounds krewe site as far as pricing.

as long as they are heavy enough to take out beer pong games once you get past Fat's I'm good with it.

Or water soluble beads?
Because it never rains during Mardi Gras

I don't give a shite about the environment. Overpopulation will ruin this planet before anything else. I also don't recycle. SO SUE ME

Cans of red beans stuck in the trees instead of beads.

If they really want the Mardi Gras beads cleaned up, just have a drop-off spot where you can exchange pounds of beads for hypodermic needles. Homeless will have the streets clean in an hour after the parade.

I would be ok with throwing $1 bills.
There would be 0 clean up and would cost me about the same.
