If in LA, you’ll be wasting your time. I had to fire an employee, pre-COVID, for going off on a vendor, trying to throw another employee under the bus for it, then lying to the VP about it. Somehow he was eligible for unemployment. When I received the notice, I appealed his benefits because I knew he had a job down the street. Got a call about it and I told them I could literally see his truck at the warehouse and would often see him several times a day.

They made every excuse in the book to keep him on unemployment, he was being paid as a 1099

We stopped giving paper work to take home, we do not text either. I have heard they bring this stuff to show that they are trying but not hired or got fired. Seldom does any govt agency follow up. When they do we give them an ear full, I have learned that state workers take care of certain people.

That's about the only way I communicate these days. I guess it's a double edged sword. I text because I want a written record of everything my customers want and ask to change.

With trying to get new hires, I don't have time to answer 10 calls a day asking for info. A quick text tells me a lot.

At first, it was because I need the man power.

After the 3rd time, it was out of curiosity to see if he would show.

I didn't realize people were working the system at that time. I didn't know it was even possible to stay on welfare just by showing that you were applying for work.

.gov doesn't care.

This has been going on for as long as I have been in hiring positions... Early 2000's, I'd lie if I told you if I remembered if it was 2001 or 2003 when I was in a position to hire folks.

Well frick you!

I used to suscribe. Btw the only benefactors have always been leftists that I knew. shite went on for decades as a mantra. Fast forward to modern times - Both blacks and liberals will doxx and try to ruin lives over a tweet…

So why should I hold back and couple that with a motherfricker stealing MY tax money? You say you aren’t a rat? I say you’re worse than that. You’re a pussy for letting someone steal from your plate and not doing shite about it.

I can't speak for there but in TN my position was eliminated back in June. I got one 600 check then it went back to 250 taxed. I don't get no unemployment in November even though my new position doesn't start till Dec 6th. I've worked and payed in since I was 16. 20 years now. I'm can reapply in June next year but obviously I got a new job.

That is why unemployment should be reimagined as an insurance programmed backed by the government. Since your employer is paying those premiums based on your salary, it should build up in an account with a value based upon your salary and how long you have paid into it. That way you can only initially collect what was paid into it.

That way regardless of how you left your last job, you have a bridge to your next one especially in a right to work state where an employer has the right to fire you for any reason.

Once the funds are exhausted from your unemployment account, you are only eligible for extended benefits if you can prove your unable to find work that are funded by a loan on your future unemployment premiums to a max of 3 months per occurrence.

Anyone gaming the system, can be banned for life from receiving extended benefits.

I own my own business. This past tax season I received documents from about 5 people claiming they worked for me. Never seen or heard of them and they all lived in different cities/towns from my business. I never had a job opening posted either. I tried calling the proper authorities to get this resolved but never received a phone call or email about the matter.
