Some “insurance defense” firms (and I put it in quotes because most firms don’t just represent insurers) have an egalitarian approach to partner compensation. It is based in part on what the individual partner bills every year, but also on the money he can leverage through pushing work down to associates and paralegals. Nobody makes more money just because their name is on the wall or they have been there for 30 years. You have to produce.
I am speaking only from my personal experience. Not all firms are like mine.

In-house corporate lawyers, in all practice areas, are collectively the highest paid group, receiving generous salaries, annual incentives/bonuses, company shares, generous benefits, etc. They don't have the billing and production hassles of the law firm lawyers...which is why many run to the corporate world.

Billboard.
They're stealing their client's settlements and laundering it through Harrahs

I sometimes wished I could have been a criminal defense attorney. I want to be able to build a case, yell in the courtroom, yell “OBJECT” get fussed at by judges, and high five my client when found innocent

You gotta respect Gordon’s billboards. He has zero shame.
Oh the Bible quotes are the lowest, most disgustingly vile thing I’ve ever seen a lawyer do. It’s laughable but equally sad. he walks around town like he’s some kind of prestigious legal magnate. It’s so gross.

Define "good money"
Phelps and Jones Walker are second 100 law firms I don't know their PPEP off hand but you can guess the average partner comp is over $1 million.
Some of the Am Law second 100 have profit per equity partner higher than some of the Am Law 100 so it might well be higher than $1 million average but figure around $700k on the very low end of the averages for all the firms in the Am Law 200.
