What other Louisiana city could compete with hosting the game? I

That is a bunch of bull and made up stats about this game drawing 50 Million. What it doesn't take into account is how many people also stay away from New Orleans during this time because of this event. The people that are staying away during the Bayou Classic are the people New Orleans makes its real money from. Ask restaurants such as Galatorie's, Arnuads, GW Fins, Mr. B's how they did this weekend. How much money did the service industry lose in tips this weekend?

The economic impact of the Classic has been estimated at $50 million annually.
And $200 of that comes from tips

Talked to a waiter who worked all weekend in the Quarter. It was a nightmare as usually this weekend. More food being returned to the kitchen on Friday night than you could imagine. The restaurant has a auto grat on 6 tops and above. A 10 top wanted to talk to the manager because of the added tip. Although printed on the menu, became a big scene and he decided to just take it off the bill. Total tip on a 10 top? $7.00. Wonder why no one wants to work that weekend?

I’m surprised that there hasn’t been a bigger push to replace Grambling with another HBCU. Pretty much ANY HBCU would travel better at this point.

Murders are already expected in the 318.
Are you sure you want to put 504 murders up against 318 murders? Come on man.
Seems like a fair comparison.... https://www.ktbs.com/news/shreveport-ranks-th-on-america-s-murder-capitals-list/article_4bebe048-c96f-11e7-9f46-8f57ed5f17ab.html

Let's say the numbers that keep getting thrown out without a source, 200,000 visitors and $50 million, are correct.
That works out to average spending of $250 a visitor. That is less than half of the average visitor to the city. Is it worth free rent and unhappy employees to beg to keep that event?
And that is ASSUMING that a large percent of people in on that weekend are not folks wanting to visit New Orleans on their own or there to visit relatives.

Brothers probably made 25 million this weekend. Last year the line was outside the building with security guards outside.

Some stereotypes exist for a reason. My gf used to live in Hibernia Tower and said the that to take the dog out, she would have to consistently kick hand grenade cups and chicken bones out of their path. The dog was in heaven. That and the crotch rocket drag races into the wee hours outside her window.

I dunno know but they say tipping suffers pretty badly.
A lot of restaurants, especially the nicer ones shut down BC weekend for this reason.

They'd shut down like it's the frickin' purge or something.

200,000 visitors that spend $26,000 dollars total in the city and vandalize and tear up 1.6 million worth of stuff.
On a positive note there is usually a lot of murders so it’s a slightly declining population annually
