Would an American mob or a Mexican cartel win in a war?

I guess it depends on which mob or cartel and in which country.
Let’s say for arguments sake it’s the Sinaloa cartel vs the Gambino family and they go out full on for each other.
I’d have to give the cartel the nod, personally.

Cartels are mostly organized and run by ex-military, many of whom were special forces.
If there was a real war with combat, it’d be no contest.

There was an interview with a Boston mob guy a few years ago and he said that the mob would have 0 chance and that the Mexican cartel would kill everyone they ever met

This and the cartels are willing to play in ways that the mafia is not. Mafia was all about the business. They killed when it’s about the money, and they mostly killed other monsters. The cartel will kill your entire family in front of you and in torturous ways.

After watching the documentary on Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Cartel, I don't think it would be any contest. That guy's organization literally waged a war against the Columbian government that brought it to it's knees. He was ruthless. I don't think the Mexican cartels have anything on Escobar's outfit.

That's a good question. There's no way to guess bc it would be so bloody and the mob would certainly hire mercenaries. Don't know if cartels need mercenaries. they already have plenty.

Believe it or not, Escobar was #2. There was another cartel that was more powerful. They were just better at shutting the frick up.

A cartel would have much more people. Also mobs are pretty much dead. A cartel can do more in Mexico than a mob can in America

Yes there was. The Cali cartel controlled 90% of the cocaine shipments in the world at one point. They were far more global than Escobar’s cartel.
