Would a six-pack every night be considered an alcoholic?
I would say so, but a friend very much takes issue with that.

My dad has had one drink of alcohol (a glass of wine or a beer) every single night for 25 years between dinner and bedtime. He has never had more than one or less than one. I guess technically he is an alcoholic because he can't NOT have his one drink every night. It's like his inverse cup of coffee in the morning. Before that he never drank. I think he read an article where scientists determined that an ounce of alcohol a day is actually good for you so he started drinking and now he's hooked on his one ounce.

Yes. That’s a ridiculous amount of drinking

Ridiculous is a bit dramatic

Is it though?
If 25% of one’s daily, ie, every day, caloric intake comes from beverages, they have a problem.
Fat, alcoholic and stupid

You can’t just go deciding I’m drunk.

That’s not the way it works. Being deemed an alcoholic is more about consequences than it is liquid or beverage intake. Specifically whether the drinking negatively impacts one’s life on a regular basis.
Ya know, losing jobs, legal problems particularly alcohol related, isolation from family, etc.

And I’ve taken the liberty of notifying your draft boards that you are all, all eligible for military service.

How so? You really think a 6 pack a night is anywhere near acceptable?

That’s some bullshite you were fed in A.A.
Obesity and negative effects on other health systems like liver disease are much more of a factor than earning a title from a support group

Probably not, now at 8am for breakfast, or if your 6 pack is Fosters.

Yea it’s very normalized here. 2 drinks for men and One for women. Women also can’t metabolize alcohol like men so it’s 2x damaging.
There is a reason he is drinking, it’s not a great coping mechanism.

Yeah, alcoholism typically results in health problems, you’re right about that.

Right but 6 beers every night is going to lead to health problems, so..
