This is not a recplacement of a traditional marriage but an alternative route. You and your fiance can sign a 2,3, or 5 year lease. At the end of the lease, you have the option to renew. You get all be benefits of marriage(taxes, health insurance). If things don't work out like for some, you can part ways amicably. Think of how much attorney fees can be saved. Corrupt divorce industry would destroyed by 75%.

How would community property work? What about children produced during that time?

Pre-nups serve the same purpose as this "marriage lease".

How do you think a female would react if you told her you love her dearly and want to get married, but only on a trial basis just to see what happens?

What a ridiculous idea. The only people who would entertain this thought are people who have no business getting married in the first place.

If it fricks, flies, or floats, it's better to rent than to buy.

Well it's ridiculous only in the sense that this is a practical idea and marriage for love is not based on practicality.
