New Orleans is not the worst. Still fun to visit and eat great food. It’s not hard to stay safe if you’re not stupid.
My worst would be a city like Dallas that is just a concrete jungle. It’s safe, but it’s completely boring.

And sad to say but New Orleans. Im an hour away and anytime somebody suggests going, I cringe

New York. I went at Christmas in 2019. All the iconic places you see in the movies at Christmas time.
People were rude as shite. Random bums trying to get my nine year old to take whatever they were giving so they could demand money. Some dickhead passing out cds told my daughter “don’t be afraid of a black guy.” frick you. Northern people are racist as shite. I’d invite any black folks raised in the south to go up there and see how people treat you, regardless of what the media tells you.
Or simple stuff, like we went to Bloomingdales and no one would hold the elevator so I could push my sleeping two year old in with the stroller. People actively stepped in front of me while I was trying to get on.
Place is a cesspool of bullshite. I don’t get how anyone could enjoy living there.

I feel like most people in this thread can save themselves a lot of energy just by saying “I don’t like black people”

You poor little thing. Don't even have to address race to hurt your feelings.

In terms of the city itself, I was completely underwhelmed with Detroit. There's a decent area by the river, but that's it. The area I was in felt largely empty and very, very industrial. Very little green space in the city, from what I saw.
But, I will probably visit again, just because I have friends living in the city.
And then for another one, I hated LA. Sprawling city, horrible traffic, and ridiculous prices. Count me out.

If I had my way, all of them. I've been to many and don't care to ever go back to any of them.

In fairness, I think it comes down to many just don't like big(ger) cities, kinda the opposite of Eva Gabor's character in Green Acres.
It is like the rude New Yorker stereotype, while true you do know exactly where you stand instead of the gentile South nasty nice approach. High population density cities like NYC also tend to pack every demographic into a small footprint. Locals instinctively know where the invisible equivalent of the literal Detroit 8 mile wall is. While there may be miles between someones gated sanctuary and a LP meth riddled trailer park it may well just be blocks between .1%ers highrises and a seriously rough neighborhood. Tourists are often oblivious to what locals see as a bright line. Someone from NYC visiting BR might find The Blue Store on a travel site and be shocked when they get there for some wings. I have no concerns rolling up to gets some wings but if I was 1,000 miles from home in a unknown city I would probably feel a little sketch and reconsider my dinner plans.

You're the one that brought it up, racist. Don't you have a klan rally that you're late for?
