Think I spent $65 for a Colibri lighter in the 80's. Laid it down somewhere & lost it after a couple of months.

I've had a couple of amfs, and the only way I was ever going to get them to stop leaking oil is completely rebuild them. I'd kill to have my panhead back.

same here. I have one and if I wasn't so lazy I'd get it removed.

The Tag Heuer Aquaracer Regatta is a piece of crap! Paid about $2k on the watch because it looked cool and one of the first Tags with a perpetual calendar.

Didn't even read that the watch was battery-powered quartz movement instead of mechanical movement. The battery of the watch died in about a year, took the watch to an authorized dealer. They attempted to replace the battery, but could not get the watch to work. They sent the watch back to the company and have not heard anything from them yet

I have a Tag Heuer that my old employer gave me at 15 years. Every time the battery quits, it costs anywhere form $125 to a couple of hundred dollars because they always say they have to replace gaskets or something else too. I take it to the same jewelry store each time it quits. I don't know if all of that other stuff is necessary, but you have to use one of their authorized dealers. Other guys at the office that take theirs to different authorized dealers say they always have to pay for the extra stuff too.

I'm so ghetto, I've put off taking it in for service for as long as a month. I'm fine with wearing one of my other watches, even the $35 Timex. I end up having a work occasion where I feel like I should wear it & go get it serviced.

After watching the Wimbledon Finals last year I thought Bradley Cooper and Gerard Butler looked like badasses in their light blue suits so I had my tailor make me a light blue suit.

Right after I picked it up I realized "WTF can a non-celebrity wear a light blue suit to?". Even the gf admits it looks legit as frick, but being that I'm not a celebrity I'd look like a turbodouche wearing it somewhere.

although i wasn't inspired by wimbledon or bradley cooper, i did the same thing and had a light blue suit made by a custom tailor(even paid an extra $200 for the vest). I've been to 5 weddings since the purchase, and only wore it once, to a daytime event in summer.

You only need to get it sealed if you are actually going to dive with it. I pay $10 for a new battery in my Tag and wait 2 minutes. Swim with it and everything. Just ask them to replace the battery and not have it resealed.

Back in 1981, I bought a Ford stepside truck. Biggest POS ever, but had to have it.

I owned a motorcycle years ago that I sold when I got married. Probably 5 years later I had been talking about getting one and my wife was completely against the idea, and one night out of the blue we were sitting around watching TV and she said "You know, if you really want a motorcycle again I guess I would be ok with that."

I didn't say anything, but I woke up early the next morning and went to the Yamaha dealer and bought an $11,000 road star warrior. She was less than thrilled as she didn't expect me to actually get one. I loved the bike, but at the time had basically not thought about getting another one until she brought it up, and I regretted it almost immediately. Sold it about a year later for $9,000.

Ask me this same question on the morning after a charity auction. We usually get drunk and up bidding on all sorts of useless shite. If someone tries to outbid me on something I'm bidding on, frick that guy I'm taking home those $2000 washer boards.

I don't know if that's impulsive or compulsive.

Speaking of drunk at auctions. 10 years ago me and bunch of friends were drunk at a ducks unlimited auction. My friend ended up paying seven hundred for a dog. He named the dog 7.

I remember one thing about the Rainbow I liked was the fragrances it put out. It was a nice product and sounds like you have enjoyed using it. I wouldn't sweat the $2600 as long as I never did something like that again. Heck, I spent $500 on a great kilt! Granted, it was handmade in Highlands NC and authentic. I wear my whole Scottish get up every Halloween to take my kids trick or treating so I do wear it.
