Constant cold & constant heat are worse, but: add western to central Oklahoma to the list. Hot as balls and windy in the summer; cold and windy in the winter. Tornado threats year round, essentially. Ice storms. Droughts. Heat Domes. You name it. Spring lasts a few weeks. Fall lasts about 5 weeks.
You can count on about 40 total days of nice weather throughout the year. "Nice" meaning mild temps and low wind.
The first requirement I have for retirement is GTFOH and moving somewhere that's got all 4 seasons and relatively mild weather.

That was part of my work territory for a few years and I imagined that’s what hell looks like

Arkansas is surprising but the NW part of the state is supposed to be nice.

I mean, at least there is farmland. Want to see what hell looks like, take a day drive from Phoenix to San Diego. It's Mars, but with 110+ temps

I was going to put a vote in for northern Indiana. It’s either a flat, remote cornfield or a run down, rust belt depressed town that’s on its last leg. The summers are hot and the winters are brutal with its lake effect snow. Feet of snow can start to accumulate as early as October. A nice fall day turns into a blue gray sky and rain in minutes due to the lake. You’re always under the threat of rain.

The summers are nice. Most southerners have not experienced a summer where you aren’t instantly sweating from the heat and humidity as soon as you step outside. Climate change is causing winters up north to become milder while the south gets more winter storms and hard freezes.

Lol...you say that like it's a bad thing. Sounds heaven like to me.

Eastern Montana is an extension of ND. Effectively, it's Kansas with a Saskatchewan winter.

In your opinion, which areas—cities or states—have the worst combination of weather and topography year-round? I
It’s DFW and not particularly close. All the weather seasons suck.
Miserable damp cold
Tornados
Hail
Miserably hot
Rinse, repeat.
On top of having to be amongst insufferable Cowboys fans

No redeeming qualities
Colder than a well diggers arse in the winter
Hotter than blue blazes in the summer
The topography is that of a dusty, shrub covered ping pong table.
Amarillo is the most cosmopolitan city around
It takes hours to get anywhere that is worthwhile.
On top of all that, there are a lot of places with high concentrations of cows and pigs, and you can smell the shite driving along I-40 at 70 mph with your windows rolled up.
Same thing goes for the Oklahoma panhandle.

Tell me you have not seen most of Wyoming without actually saying it.
The bulk of Wyoming looks just like the Dakotas. Same with eastern Montana.

I see you have never had to drive over an hour for gas/groceries. That is life in many places in Wyoming.
But hey, there are still glory holes at the Luvs in Wamsutter.

Honestly, West Tennessee/North Mississippi sucks. There are only (3) things you can absolutely predict.
1) disgustingly hot and humid at some point in the summer
2) bitingly freezing cold at some point in the winter
3) its going to rain a lot more than you would expect at multiple points through out the year
The only problem is you just never know when any of these things are going to hit. I think thats the worst part about it, the mystery. Like, it was 20deg the other day but its supposed to be like 70 on Christmas day. Looking forward to a nice spring? Sucks to be you, its going to rain for a month straight this year...maybe. Oh, you made it through July with it being relatively mild? Just wait for August and September. Oh, its Halloween? Its either going to be 90deg or 25deg, no in between. Its like someone just throws a dart at a weather dart board with their eyes closed every week. Oh, yeah, and tornados

We tend to build cities near natural features that they need to survive. Either near a river for a port or at a junction of roads/rail.
I guess I find the weather in Houston to be the least appealing to me. But Houston is right where it needs to be - on the ship channel with deep water ports.

The central to southern parts of MS are pretty awful considering the ridiculous heat in the summer, mostly flat and boring, combined with the changes in weather patterns that have made it much more tornado prone.
