Did I read that they are closing off access to the area immediately outside of the Dome and they are going to be charging $100 just to get into that area? Or, was it just somebody’s idea on this board for the Superdome to make money and to keep away all the riff-raff?

Yep. This is fcking huge. I would bet at least 75% of the people with tickets are coming from out of state and a decent amount from out of the country.

The real issue is that live nation owns Ticketmaster. Live nation controls all of the venues/tickets and thus the artists. They control the release of tickets and then the re-sale.

Once the venue is set up they often find out that they can add seats. There’s a huge following for this shite online. My wife is hoping to score tickets this way. If I score some, I’m not saying a word and I’m gonna sell those frickers for $500 each

The last I read NOPD said they MIGHT be closing roads (Poydras for example) and said to plan routes accordingly but of course, didnt say if they were or werent closing roads so I guess pepple need to plan for the possibility roads are closed.

Well done NOPD, well done indeed.

It’s common for prices to drop at big concerts at the last minute, usually when most people are in the arena.

But the catch is that you have to be prepared to go home disappointed.

It’s a big enough hassle to fight traffic, parking, and crowds to show up at an arena a few miles from my house in hopes of scoring a good deal on tickets. No way would I travel to another city in hopes of finding something affordable.

That’s going to throw a wrench into the whole last minute plan thing.

I always swore that if I won a billion dollar lottery, one of the first things I would do is develop and market an alternative to Ticketmaster and the other scumbag ticket sites. You can make a damn good return without charging exorbitant and completely fricking ridiculous fees. Further, the fees would typically not be based on the price of the ticket but rather just a flat fee that provides a good return on your investment it has some relation to your actual cost.

It seems like an entity could completely take over the entire nationwide secondary ticket market by simply coming out and saying we will charge a maximum $25 flat fee on all person-to-person ticket transactions.

Once your system is set up, there is really no cost to what you are doing, it would seem, and so it's all basically free money anyway, once you've wiped everyone else out.

I've done this for sporting events, don't see why it's that crazy for a concert.

$500? You can sell them for way more than that.

The ticket fees are highway robbery and then being so high at every reseller seem like collusion to me.

I get the supply and demand pricing. The fees make me want to go postal.

You can watch the LSU games on TV, why do people go to Tiger Stadium? Seems like a waste.
