How else would we know who the female doctors, engineers, physicists, pilots and attorneys are? I’ve been assured here numerous times that tattoos are a mark of intelligence, sound decision making, logic and good taste.

The really cool and definitely not trashy things the women are doing now is putting random tattoos on their arms and hands as if they’re stickers.

And it looks awful every time

No guy in the history of guys has ever been like, “Hold on — before anything else, that skull on your forearm? Just breathtaking.”

It’s a red flag for any normal man wanting to get married. Do not do it. It screams trashy, rebel, insecure, look at me, etc. These women are doing good men a favor by letting them know who they are.
Why?
Is it not possible for a woman to have tattoos and also be an upstanding citizen, faithful wife, and great mother?

Funny thing is at our corporate office there's more visible tattoos on the office staff than on the truck drivers - its amazing how that has shifted.

lulz...this is such a ridiculous argument against tattoos.
Are you that much of a prude?

It's an interesting sociological phenomenon that makes one wonder where the change stems from.
I think we know, right?
I mean, it's more socially acceptable now, easier to get, and the artists have gotten way better across the board so people, women included, feel better about getting more intricate work done.
People like expressing themselves -- this is just another way.

A relaxation of societal norms
Not that hard to figure out

It's possible, sure. But there's absolutely a negative correlation.

Not denying that, but why?
Why do you feel that way? Have you had firsthand experience or because the OT says so?

Probably just really really old.

Why do you care so much about what others care about?

Absolutely. It seems incredibly rare to find a woman under 40 without a tattoo.
I’m in a law school building every day. There may be tats I don’t see, but the percentage of females with tats appears to be fairly low. As for campus in general, it’s a bit of a mix.

A self defining demarcation of lower social class. A sign this ain’t the kind to bother introducing to Mom.

Of course. I think a lot depends on when they got them. 19 in Daytona on Spring Break? Cool. 45 right after a divorce and probably in the middle of midlife crisis. Also cool. But going from zero at 45 to 10 is an indication of something you might not want any part of.
I’m sure there’s data on this, but I saw a YouTube video where they got these young, good looking guys at some busy beach, and told them to ask the women there for dates. They overwhelmingly approached more tattooed woman than non. They were asked if they thought the tattooed women were more attractive. They said
“No, we just thought they were more likely to say yes.”
“To sex?”
“To anything.”
And chances are they were probably right. This is a huge generalization, but there is data supporting it, and men understand it instinctively. Women with tattoos are more likely to be impulsive, risk takers, hypersexual, and produce lower natural dopamine (and need bigger hits of it and more often). They are less likely to consider long term consequences. They “feel” like getting something in the moment, they do it.
Again, all that is fine. People are different. But they do need to be aware they are sending a signal, likely subconscious, that they are likely more willing to try different things. Again, no problem. But they also need to know that men will lie to them and tell them whatever they want to hear, sleep with them, and ghost them.
Not all of them, and not all men, but on average, this is true. I’ve seen the data somewhere. I don’t know if it’s super compelling, but it was enough to at least be interesting.

The average 30-50 year old baseball/softball mom/grandma is more than likely going to have an ankle or foot tattoo at the least.
