I have a 2 car wide driveway with a parking area at the end and it doesn't matter if it's my mom, my sister, gf, sister-in-law, random girls that friends drag over, etc....even if there is only 1 other car in the driveway they cannot park without blocking somebody in. They see a car and have to park behind it instead of beside it. My dad parked in the yard so that I could get my car out and my sister parked behind him and blocked him in. 30 minutes later my sil and mother show up in separate cars and both park behind me instead of beside my car. It ends up being a shite show when it is time for people to leave.

My dad told me he gave up trying to teach my mom to park 25 years ago lol.

There's actually no rules for how to park in driveways, so I don't like your anger here.

Just tell them where to park on their way over or when they get there.

You don't go out and greet company? You wait for them to awkwardly walk to your front door and ring the bell and wait on you?

That's bad host etiquette...all around.

I hope your HOA repossess all of your possessions and burns your first born at the stake.

This would piss me off to no end.

Almost related.

A few years back me and some friends lived in a tri plex. We were in the middle and my other friends lived right next door. Each driveway could fit 4 cars comfortably.

This girl living next door with my Buddy was not that bright. One day we are all out there smoking joes. She’s on her way to work. My buddy is parked behind her. She proceeds to just back up right into him. I was in disbelief. I still give her shite. Left a nice knot in his front bumper.

That's funny because she parks just fine when she's at my house.

I give them shite for it every time they do it. They are not dumb women, they just don't think ahead on little shite like this. no anger, just a little frustration.

I park in the driveway on the right side so my wife can pull in and out of the garage easily. On days she doesn’t pull in the garage, for whatever reason, there is never enough room for me park. There is an expansion joint down the center of the driveway. It’s not that hard, or so I thought

Next time it's raining real hard, tell them you have to make a quick trip to the store and they need to move their cars. Sure, you'll get a little wet but so will they. Women don't like getting wet when they are all made up. It's worth a try.

I generally try and avoid parking behind someone unless I know I'm not staying for long. Also, I would rather not pull all the way up at a friend's house if I know his SO is coming home.

I will tell you what I have noticed women do, and it drives me insane: parking at the *end* of the driveway, or not pulling up enough in a driveway so that others can park.

My wife stays on her side, but she runs over the grass every time.

Also, you are obviously not leaving so I should park behond you. You make no sense with your driveway anger because the logic is poor.

My drive way has a parking spot that splits off right next to the side porch. You can pull in and not block the drive way. Women use it about 2% if the time. They insist on blocking the drive way.

Drives me crazy.

Psychologists long took it for granted that the male and female brains were fundamentally different. But in a landmark 1974 book, Stanford developmental psychologists Eleanor Maccoby and Carol Jacklin reviewed thousands of studies and found the opposite: By and large, there just wasn’t much data to support the conventional wisdom. Yes, men’s brains are bigger, but so are their bodies; aside from size, there’s no solid evidence of physical characteristics in the brain that are demonstrably male or female. A 2015 study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences concluded that “human brains do not belong to one of two distinct categories: male brain/female brain.”

Yet over the years, research has documented differences in cognitive abilities between men and women, something Maccoby and Jacklin noted in 1974. And spatial skills, says Elizabeth Cashdan, an anthropologist at the University of Utah, “are the largest cognitive sex difference known.”

quote:

So what explains the gap? Significantly, the differences in spatial cognition are widespread, and have turned up in tests around the world. They’re so prevalent in so many cultures that they can’t be explained purely as an artifact of Western child-rearing practices or education.

“If it was only cultural, it should be different in some cultures. It has to be some kind of biological factor, whether it’s hormones or evolution,” says Sorby. “Maybe it starts out as a small biological difference that grows bigger because of the environment.”

quote:

Her basic premise is that men have evolved to wander, in search of both food and more mates. Males who travel more and farther have a reproductive edge—as do women who stay closer to home, focusing on protecting and raising their offspring. Studies of traditional and modern human societies have demonstrated larger ranges correspond to better spatial cognition, both in mental rotation and with wayfinding, the ability to navigate and find one’s way around.
