I have a hard time rationalizing 27 years in a coma being the better than not making it.

You would be physically wrecked. Surely mentally unwell. And 3 decades of advancements leave you socially incapable.
People think it's like a movie where you just wake up and hop out of bed.

She was coma'd throughout Tiger Woods' entire career, and can't even understand that comeback

Know someone who deals with brain injury/trauma everyday and the stories are heart breaking. While at the same time being eye opening.

In the case of this 32 year old chick I think you do everything to get her back.

Unfortunately, their wishes are all speculation once the lights go to dimmer. I know I want every expense spared to give me one more minute on this Earth.

It feels like a long shot that you actually end up getting much enjoyment but I suppose we will see
Yeah this is hard to fathom.

Were you aware of your surroundings?
Sometimes. Sort of. Sometimes I would be conscious enough to see my family, the room, and the nurses, and feel the breathing tube but I didn't really know what was going on or where I was.

What a particularly stupid post

Please point out where my post was factually incorrect.

2019 - 27 = 1992

Gosh, I wonder if Wahibi Islam has slaughtered at least 20,000 infidels since 1992?

ETA: Your Mom was/is stupid.

Not everyone does but I did. I don't know that it was the entire time but it felt like it.

Resume life. Go to school. She can accomplish whatever she puts her mind to.

It sounds terrible. You wake up and realize you've missed half your life and you still have to go through dying.

Her son, the five year old when the school bus ran into their car, has been visiting her almost daily. He said that sometimes he could tell when she was listening to him. (She wasn't driving-she's a Muslim so was sitting in the back seat with her son.)
She came to when there was a loud argument near her.

They had been working on her muscles, but she still is confined to a wheelchair because of loss of muscle mass.
When her son starts to recite a line of the Koran, she can finish the lines.

The cynic in me would point out that her burkas, etc. are still in style and probably still fit as well as they ever did.

I don't know how the medical profession got around the need for a male relative to be there any time a non-related male might come in to do a medical procedure.
