Saw it unfortunately. Figured most would understand the desire to not take and share pictures of a scene that doesn't show much. I didn't get anything up close for you weirdos to get off to.

A couple of high schoolers I was with saw a lot more than I did. I hope they can sleep tonight. I hope they get over it

I hope to God this wasn't a woman with her kids
WWL just said a witness said the lady was older, around 60ish, and that they think she was out there by herself

People get wayyy too excited for some cheap trinkets and 20 cent plastic beads and get so close to the float that it almost runs over their feet all the time

Insufferable New Orleanians or the transplants that just arrived there?

Lack of information is better than complete false information. The pictures show the float still in the center of the road, not on the sidewalk as you said.

That’s weird because my wife just spoke to someone who saw the whole thing and the float broke from then tractor and ran up on the sidewalk

If that was the case, I would imagine there would either be multiple fatalities or at least multiple injuries rather than just one person.

Parade ended at float 20

If it’s a tandom pull where’s the back float and who’s not to say the rig didn’t go on the sidewalk first then pull back into the road. Again, I didn’t see it, just second hand info.

Sorry you had to experience seeing what you saw. I can’t imagine what you must be going through at this time. You will be in my prayers for the next few days

Mayor just had a press conference at the scene. Said it was an adult female but that they had no details as to what happened.

Also, float is in the middle of the road. So whoever saying axle broke and it went on the sidewalk is lying.

And they showed all the rest of the floats stuck on Magazine and said those floats wouldn’t continue on because there’s no route that can fit the floats to detour them around the police scene.

Sucks for riders on 20+ other floats that spent all that money and have their ride cut about 90% short because some woman decided to run between a tandem float trying to pickup beads off the ground

Walt it's always sad when drunk people get killed by sober people.
