What good does carrying do if you are ambushed from behind with no chance to react? Illusion of safety
I'd bet that in ten similar events where someone is carrying and someone isn't, the one carrying survives more often. Even if it's only 2 or 3 times, there's a difference.

A woman who jogs alone needs a big dog to go with her. A dog is a great deterrent.

I take railroad photos in shite areas - the main place I go in Shreveport has everything: bums, hookers, meth heads, drug dealers, etc. A friend goes to the same area, openly packing, but gets hassled.

My big Belgian Malinois kept all of the rabble away. I had a pistol in my camera bag, but the dog worked perfectly.

Its a shame women aren't safe in our country. Nothing will be done, people don't care.

What possible reason could anyone have to just murder someone so beautiful?

I’d guess rape was a motive.

People are spooked as this happened in a very low-crime area of Scottsdale/N. Phoenix, directly behind Mayo.

can understand that sentiment, but do you carry when you go for a family walk or bike ride in the neighborhood?

I didn't before, but I do nowadays. I didn't ask for things to be this way, but I can and will adapt to it. And no I don't carry for kids ball games, would probably cause problems

Yeah bud like I said, IMO people are still living in a fantasy land / burying their heads in the sand as to the reality of what's happening. You can say its an isolated incident all day but she's still dead at the end of the day and this stuff keeps happening. I understand things have changed quickly, but its spreading and good people need to adapt to it.

I'll go ahead and bet this guy when inevitably caught has a nice rap sheet and should have been in prison or an insane asylum.

He lived in the Catherine at the corner of Scottsdale and Bell.

The trail is pretty busy and I ran on it often when I lived in the area. Very surprising. Would think there is more to the story than a random attack.

What a weird way to describe someone in plain daylight on a hiking trail.
Seems like they're trying to say the suspect is Bigfoot.
