I assume you think being a non motorcycle officer is not a risk?
The job is risky, it should pay more and then deputies wouldn't have to do details to earn extra cash.

Well, at least we can rest easy knowing she will actually do jail time. If she fit another description, a leftist judge would have released her already.

It’s especially risky when the continue using motorcycles for this and wedding party escorts.

A friend of mine was on a motorcycle for JPSO doing one of these escorts several years ago and got hit by a car. fricked him up pretty bad.

It shouldn't have happened if people take responsibility for themselves, the crack /meth head shouldn't have been driving

Well yeah but the point of this is it really necessary to block traffic and put a motorcycle officer in an exposed position for a non-emergency situation? The point is that a motorcycle escort is not necessary for people to get safely from the funeral home/church to grave sight in their vehicles. Also expediting the voyage isn’t necessary as well.

Maybe if you are going to do it utilize a standard patrol car instead of a motorcycle bc at least a patrol car provides the officer an order of magnitude more protection than a motorcycle (obviously this would logistically be more difficult).

Yes. Funeral processions should be illegal.

Did any of those prescription bottles have that little sticker about not operating heavy machinery?

I'd bet yes.

The way these mc cops fly in/through/around traffic, I'm surprised they aren't alot more deaths and injuries. They don't just hustle to the next intersection, they ride like a bat out of hell and endanger themselves and others. I love the popo, but this is just stupid.

This is a good conversation. The police escort for a funeral is not a necessary thing. People can easily get from point A to point B safely in their vehicles. I understand it’s probably a nice fringe benefit for the police officer though to earn some extra cash.

Motorcycle riding is so dangerous bc you are totally exposed with essentially no protection if an accident occurs as opposed to someone driving a car/truck/Suv who has the shell of the vehicle to protect them.
