WTF is a bull chicks. That is a horrible name for a restaurant.

There's one on Coursey. I've eaten there a few times.Decent wings but kinda pricey.

I guess it competes sign chicken and watermelon as one of the worst names for a restaurant.

It sounds like a lesbo joint.

I would think that the white cook who got called ni&&&a would be to only one who has a case here.

It doesn't work that way....

Wrong. The fact that the "ni...a" in this story is a white guy, makes this story even funnier. It was absolutely necessary to include this detail so we can get maximum laughs at this woman's expense.

I wish there was a white Rev. Al Sharpton who could swoop in to declare fake outrage on behalf of the cook.

Bet she didn't know the owner was black as well

It's odd that the owner would mention the race of the white sandwich maker. It makes it sound like the black owner feels this makes it better, when it actually makes it worse. Most white people would not enjoy being called that name in a work setting since it's such an awkward situation with everyone treating the word differently.

Never been in the back of a kitchen before, huh?

It does seem iconic. That guy should own it. Offer a Pickles Ni$$a Meal.

Hate to see them get hassled by this but honestly people should know by now to be mindful of what you put in print.
I'm torn. The professional, risk-averse side of me agrees with you, but the a-hole/trollish side of me is like:

Did Ms. Tanya get pickles or not?

Yes, but it's been about 22 years and the word had changed since then. About 10 years ago, I recall discussions from the older black community that the word shouldn't be used at all. My perception is that the younger black generation disagrees and has made it more mainstream. I hear the word used much more often today when I play basketball with younger black 'kids' (teenagers to early 20s) than I did when I was in my early 20s.
I'm not saying this incident is that big of a deal but seemed odd that they specifically mentioned it was a white worker.

So....
it's still ok for POC to say it, just can't write it down?
I need to know these things. It's important...
