Woman dreamed about eating engagement ring — woke up to find she really did

Why would anyone waste money on a 2.4 carat engagement ring? It’s a ring that sits on your finger and does nothing. I’d rather have a 1 carat ring and the cash.

True story:
Years ago, there was a serial rapist in my hometown area. My mom was pregnant with my sister and was all freaked out about it. My dad worked shift work at the time and would get up early to go in, and my mom would always sleep in. She had dreamed that my dad got up, got ready for work, went out the door, cranked the truck, and pulled out of the drive. A few minutes later, she felt someone move in the bed. She woke up in a start and grabbed her .38 snub nose out of her side table. She was screaming which made my dad wake up to the pistol right in his face. She has always told that he didn't even blink, move, or anything. Pops just looked at her and said, "What in the hell are you doing?". She dropped the gun on the bed and started bawling. She said she barely slept at all for the next week or so until they finally caught the guy.
Pops rolled over and went back to sleep right away.
TLDR: Dreams are weird and my mom almost shot my dad over one.
