I don't understand. How does someone like this get a driver's license?

I'd like to see the body cam recording from the officer after he pulled her over.

Never been in one of those, my state doesn't do them. They just block the entire road.

Never heard of that, but I definitely wouldn't pass the officer. It seems fairly clear that the officer is controlling the traffic there.

It makes me feel better that I’m not the only one who hasn’t heard of a “controlled slowdown”

It seems as if you’re in the minority on this one

They take simulation driving tests these days. The days of actually driving around with someone's grumpy gramps as adjunct professor/Driver's Ed teacher are over.

Sometimes they are below the speed limit or are texting.

What is the point of a controlled slow down?

It’s not much diff than caravaning the causeway.

Cop keeps the pace ahead during fog.

This is used to slow traffic a bit for something up ahead instead of weather.

Not here in Kentucky. They still do a written for their permit and a license test (with a DMV employee) here through KDOT.

Also, we call them rolling roadblocks here. I’ve seen them do it a couple of times when blasting on I-64. You just stay behind the cop.

Even if you've never been in one, how the frick does a person not realize that the cop is trying to get all the lanes to back off.

Californian men are so gay that they film people speeding, freak out and root for them to get tickets

That guy sounds like a huge homo

I like how the cop pulls someone over in the middle of the “controlled slowdown” so instead of just having one car go by he instead lets every single car on the interstate go by. Cop math

Gives a moment to a tow truck ahead to maneuver.

Gives a moment to cops pushing car out of the roadway.

Any sort of temporary road hazard ahead.

Interesting living in Houston and DFW I’ve never seen this. Of course, our traffic is a shite show.

I never saw any emergency vehicles in the video.

I've been in this a couple of times on I-10 in Baton Rouge area.

First time it was b/c they(Louisiana State Police) were preparing to escort a big ole arse wide load up on the I-10 in Baton Rouge and across the bridge. So the trooper slowed us down to give plenty safe space to get the big load up on 110 and across the Bridge without other cars around.

Another time a few DOTD motorist assistance trucks did it on 110 near the governor's mansion. It was b/c one of them was about half a mile up ahead stopping to pick up a bumper off 110.

This gave the DOTD guy time to stop his truck, pick up the piece of bumper and toss in his truck then scoot along before we all crashed into him.

It's better than closing the interstate.

All states have this kind of thing.
