Woman accused of scratching husband during argument

A West Monroe woman is facing a domestic abuse charge after an argument with her husband turned physical.

According to an arrest report for Veronica Impson, age 34, Caldwell Road, deputies with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office responding to a domestic disturbance made contact with the victim.

He said an argument with his wife escalated, and she began chasing him through the home. The victim said he "balled up" on the kitchen counter, and Impson started scratching his face.

Deputies reported seeing multiple wounds to the victim's face that appear to have been made by fingernails. The victim also had bruising to his left eye.

Impson told officers the scratches were from her pushing the victim away when he "got in her face."

A witness at the scene said the commotion woke him, and he went to the kitchen. When he arrived in the room, he saw Impson scratching the victim's face on top of the counter.

Impson was booked Monday morning on one count of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment. Bail was set at $2,000.
