My home is new construction but the cabinetry will be waiting on the measurements of the appliances so I need to get off my tail and decide.

I am considering Wolf and Sub Zero appliances for my kitchen. Will the dealers work down the pricing or is it pretty much locked by the dealer with little wiggle room?

48" sub zero fridge
48" wolf duel fuel range

Will probably go cheaper on the rest of the items. since they're not as major as the main two.

Home is in Central if that makes a difference.

Electrolux is far superior to those brands.

give AJ Madison a call. very good experiences with them. they WILL work with you on prices if you can stomach buying from out-of-state instead of a local dealer.

eta literally 2 dudes from new jersey showed up in my driveway with a big arse truck and carried it into my house. said they had driven all night

i don't know how this company makes money.

A 48" range is, well...48" wide. I'll let you guess how wide a 48" fridge is. Now you have measurements.

High end appliances are for appearances only

The function is no higher end than a decent whirlpool

Laugh all you want.

Sub zero is for women who think they have a kitchen that should be in a magazine

Isn't that every white woman's dream? It would make her friends jealous.

Wolf/Subzero is mandated pricing by the manufacturer. Pricing moves very little for this brand.

is your project located in one of the flood zip codes?

When I worked for UL I was in residential cooking. I took apart multiple brands and you are more correct than you know. It's really all just finish options, outside of electric ovens...which don't have much theory either. Element shape, insulation quality...gas burner styles vary, sealed or not, and getting the fuel efficiently ignited helps pass the CO tests. That's really the only test new models failed. Gas grill/griddle options failed regularly.

When a test failed they would call BS and show me the 'R&D' room with the competitors product taken apart...

Isn't there a poster on here who specializes in appliances?

I would consider the DCS. We didn't go with that for our range but that's because I designed my kitchen around a French range.

We have DCS fridge but it's panel ready. There was no point in getting an obnoxiously priced fridge just to have it hidden. So there's your answer....sub zero will be for everyone to see it's a sub zero.

Yeah, him. I couldn't remember his name. But I followed a number of his appliance threads while we were researching and he helped immensely. Very knowledgeable. I'll also be purchasing a Speed Queen when my current LG front loaders die. I can't even believe they've lasted 7 years..knock on wood.

My wife hated the red knobs. Made them switch to chrome.

Hey Lady, hope you're well.

If this were me, I'd pull the trigger today on a new top loading Speed Queen.

Murphy's Law and the LG today is worth something presently functioning.

Put it on craigslist for whatever you can get for it.

It's a question of when it craps out rather that "if".

I bought a SQ set this past weekend as a wedding present in North Alabama. The pair was right at $1,800 with tax, delivery & set-up. The folks at All South Appliance Group in Huntsville were wonderful to deal with, very professional.
