It's kinda nice going into an establishment and not being met by a scowl. I just went to a Popeyes in San Antonio and got my food before being able to fill up my drink. Far cry from the "service" we get in Louisiana.

It's entirely a mentality starting with the owner

Yeah yeah, service with a smile is great, but being told to pull up for 'da spicy is just NOLA being unique.

You mean Saquonda, Laquisha, and Propecia won’t give you the death stare when handing you your Popeyes order?

I say this all the time. Once you leave the deep south and go to Texas or up north the big mama workers down south are replaced by hardworking hispanics and whites. Fast food becomes a pleasing experience and the restaurants are clean. Almost unfathomable living down south.

I find that the service at the Popeyes on N. Causeway is pretty good.

We really need to import better managers.

Well managed service establishments in LA don't have this issue.

But we have few good managers.

That’s such a broad brush approach but generally speaking it’s true. There’s plenty of shite customer service in Texas but at the same time there is a whole lot more good customer service.

Plain and simple, vast majority of people in LA regardless of age or social status do not give a frick about quality in anything. Don’t like taking care of things. Don’t like being overly friendly. Don’t like being welcoming to outsiders. It starts at the top down and is engrained in the DNA. Texas is almost the opposite.

In a nutshell, Louisiana has demographic problems working against them. Not sorry if true.
