It takes a village to raise a child.

So do your part by helping them little baws live out their daddy's dream.

Yep. If Easton wants to go to the World Series in Carencro he should wash cars or something to pay for it

There's one in Carencro? We've been driving to Destin all this time.

Beats panhandlers (why do they always fit my image of what a gypsy looks like? Are they?) standing in the middle of the street while you're at a stoplight with a long-winded explanation on a poster board of why they need your money to bury their child..

At least you can eat the cookies!

For straight up begging, I look them in the eye and say "No thank you". If they persist I say "I said No, please leave me alone". I try to be firm and not rude.

Anything past that gets ignored but reported to the manager as harassment.

I don't mind KIDS selling a good or service, but the days of KIDS mowing yards or washing cars to fund their extracurricular activities are past. I hate parents who sit there and do their kid's work. Parents should supervise their kids and mentor them to encourage self-initiative and motivation, not pan-handling.

It's hard for them to compete with a crew of Mexicans who will detail your yard in 20 minutes.

Or those that can wash your windows in the mere seconds it takes for that stop light to change to green.

Those can be ignored
A kid getting in your way when you’re just trying to go in & buy toothpaste can’t

Begging for travel ball funds irritates me more than anything.

Really?

Charity requests for sports is way down the list of charity requests that infuriate me. At least it’s going to kids for something that is productive.

I’ll give money to a kid for sports long before I’ll give a cent to crackhead Charlie or any politician.

I played AAU basketball one year back in the day where I was the token white guy. They made us go sit in front of a walmart and try to collect money for new uniforms.

Next year I found a team where everyone could afford to buy their own uniforms

I’m ok with the occasional Girl Scout cookies or Boy Scout whatever.

But nothing bothers me like travel ball World Series fund raisers.

Parents pay tons of money to get on the team. Just pay the rest for the World Series.

I don't know if you've seen the price of bats these days but...it takes a village.

I just walk by without saying a word maintaining eye contact. They realize that’s a no. Don’t let them play on your guilt.

Technology’s made it harder to avoid them also.

Used to be able to say “oh sry I don’t have any cash”. Now you say that and they just say they take Venmo or Zelle or whatever. No im not venmoing some random person money. Take the hint and leave me alone.

I hate the Att or Cox enployee that ambushes you every time you walk through the electronics section of Walmart. Drives me nuts. I'm trying to shop I have Att go away.

As kids we sure as shite didn’t go play baseball games in other states … somehow we survived and didn’t grow up being junkies sucking dick for heroin. Kids don’t need that shite.

But they're not really working for it. It's still asking for a donation. What ever happened to bake sales, car washes, other fun forms of service to raise money for these kinds of things.

I think it's worth a small donation if you can. An act of kindness is smiled upon from above, indeed.
