So you’re in wine sales and asking if spit.
I would kick your shite in if I opened up a bottle of 98 Right bank Bordeaux and you spit it out.

Went to Napa last year. Went in Robert Mondavi for a private tasting and meal for our anniversary. Tried several wines and a few I didn’t like. Guide said spit it out I said why waste it. His response was you must be from New Orleans

I used to work wine dinners and ratings and you’ve never seen normal people get as drunk as they do at these events. Straight laced, uptight, hoitie Tootie snobs get absolutely smashed on a otherwise normal Tuesday night at every one I’ve been a part of. It’s pretty entertaining and there was always lots of leftover wine when the event was over. I enjoyed them!

Why would I spit out good wine? Swallow, always swallow the wine.

I'm never spitting wine out.
I've never been to a fancy enough tasting where my opinion mattered enough to spit it out.

Such a great movie
I find it fascinating the shift in wine buying based on that one movie alone.
For people besides the OP and TH03, anyone know the irony about one of the wines in the movie?

No ones opening that bottle for a tasting panel unless you’re with James suckling.

Not directly in sales. The sales staff reports to me.

No you wouldn't. But if being E-Man makes you feel better, then do you.

Be more specific. Some 96 Left Bank Bordeaux wines are better.

No because I’m not fancy.
I buy my wine at the cvs across the street

You're trying too hard in this thread.

I can’t even tell you the name of the movie

That movie single-handedly ruined Merlot for a long time. It's just starting to regain its traction.

Sideways. It came out in the early 2000s and completely changed wine buying. In the movie Paul G's character says "I'm not drinking any fricking Merlot!" and has a deep appreciation for Pinot noir. After the movie was released, merlot went from the 2nd most popular wine in the states to a drastic drop in sales and pinot noir came from way back in the pack and jumped to #2.
What I was asking has more to do with Paul G's most coveted wine.

Doesn't seem very hard. I'm talking about something I do for a living.
I get the whole notion of "trying too hard" on a message board, but this isn't a good example of it.

Then why are you asking such a basic question that an expert like yourself already knows the answer to?

It's a perfect example of it.

He was asking what we do. How could he possibly know what the People of Walmart all do at a wine tasting?
