If you've ever been a part of a wine/champagne/sparkling tasting, you know the proper technique is to taste it and then spit it out. I pretend to spit it out, but swallow most of it.

What do you do?

I’m not fancy enough to go to wine tastings.

But always swallow. Why waste wine?

Screw wine tastings. Just go to wine dinners. Eat and drink all you want.

It's part of the job. Dinners are always a blast. Especially when a supplier is in town and foots the bill.

I agree though, I'm not spitting it out.

More often than not, a tasting I’m taking part in is part of my work duties, so I spit. When I’m at a winery, I’m not spitting it out.

Swallow.

And if it's a multi-winery tour I'm smashed by the end of the day.

Not playing your game but I'll say when I was in the business I did one thing and do another now.

No one at a winery is going to tell a paying customer they’re doing something wrong.

And it’s not necessarily wrong, but if you’re doing a proper tasting, you spit. Getting a bit drunk will dull your taste buds.
