Scoot was there. He looked like a fig. That’s all I got.

Jefferson Parish brought in some one-hit celebrity from the 1940s for its bicentennial celebration.

Confession: "Hold On" is one of my favorite songs of that era. Nice melody.
Oh and if they "sound like the record" here in 2026, it's a great chance they are using backing tracks in concert. I am fairly certain more bands use backing tracks in concert than you want to believe. Especially the older bands and even moreso women singers.... Women's voices tend to fade out as they age much worse than men's voices.

It was a good song, too bad it was their only one.

They are starting to show their age, but then again I am too.
Who was the famous guitarist that played on Hold On? Was it Joe Walsh?

He's the real life version of Lyle The Effeminate Heterosexual.

True, "Hold On" was their biggest hit, IMO, but they had 7 singles to reach top 40 in the US, including 3 that peaked at #1 (Hold On, Release Me, and You're in Love")

Impulsive, Release Me, and You're in Love were all pretty big hits.

My favorite. And I got to tell Wendy that even though she was about to pass out.
I put it in when I signed her book.
