I usually put the tree and outside shite up the first or second weekend of November, depending on the weather outlook. Yeah, it's early, but 1.) It makes my kids happy, and 2.) it's a lot of work, so if I'm going to do all of that work I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor for awhile, and 3.) It frees up the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to do more travel and visiting.

I had to make sure this wasn't an old thread and your post wasn't something I wrote in the past because this is exactly how I feel. I used to be very against anything Christmas before Thanksgiving, but kids changed that.

Having said that, Nov 1 is way too early.

No. I put up permanently installed LED's 2 years ago. Never have to put up christmas lights again. I'll be running them tonight for Halloween...

No, but the guy who hangs our Christmas lights is coming November 5th, which is too early in my opinion, but that's his only availability
