While there is no doubt in my mind that there is other intelligent life out there, I don't think anyone out there has developed the technology to master interstellar travel. I just don't think it's physically possible to travel at such a high rate of speed.

Out of all the trillions upon trillions of stars, much less planets, why would any being take an interest in, or even notice ours?

There are as many stars as there are grains of sand on all the beaches of all the oceans. How many singular, individual, grains have caught your attention?
