The majority of the people that have flooded into Florida over the past 3 years were work from home types. Don't know a single one that migrated for job opportunities. I guess there are some that just needed to get away from liberal politics but again it wasn't the promise of jobs.

the job industry in FL is terrible.

Tbh you're not wrong on the job market in FL.

How are all these people moving to Florida with such a shitty job market? All remote workers? I routinely check listings there and see nothing for what I do. The few resumes I have sent out over the last couple years have gotten no response, and my resume is pretty strong.

Many in Florida had begun moving back north. But not all the way back north. Many settled in Western NC and East Tenn.

And Raleigh NC.

Yeah when I lived in that area I met several folks from up north who fled to FL to escape taxes and then again to VA or NC to escape heat and hurricanes.

Every person I know from the Midwest (Iowa/South Dakota/Minnesota) who has a second home (Winter home) in a southern state has one in Arizona. Warm winters, no humidity, no hurricanes.

Thats just proximity. The northern east coast goes down to Florida. Lot of New Yorkers, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine'rs.

Everybody know the difference between a yankee, and a damn yankee?

What is it?

A yankee comes down for a little while and then goes home. A damn yankee stays.

A Yankee is like a hemorrhoid, it comes come, won't go back up and becomes a pain in the arse.
