Will there ever be a way to study if a Covid death victim would have died anyway?

The CDC already has published that only 6% of Covid deaths were for folks with no comorbidities, and that furthermore the other 94% of deaths had on average 2.6 comorbidities.
To me the key question of this whole pandemic is whether the folks in the 94% would have died on their own (within some reasonable time) without Covid. Will there ever be a way to study this?

The 2 deaths I know both had Dementia / Alzheimer’s
Technically we are all going to die
I am not sure if they can look at a heart & assume a heart attack would happen within months or years
Would be interesting to know

From now on all deaths are Covid deaths.

Considering that a majority were 75+, I can say with authority they would not have lived forever, and likely were in the last part of their lives.

Individually, probably not. Broadly yes. If you like at year over trends, we will probably see excess deaths when compared to previous years trends as Covid takes hold but I suspect that going forward we will actually see a drastic decline in overall deaths shortly after it burns its way through. Basically it’s forcing the issue on the short timers.
I’ll try to find it but a saw where Sweden Is currently way under the previous yearly trends after their Covid death spike.
Edit:
This link shows the excess deaths for about 16 weeks but was below the previous five year trends before and after for Sweden.

It really depends on what you mean by "reasonable time".
It's fair to say that an 80yo with severe dementia and terminal cancer facing an outlook of a few months who died of Covid is far from a tragedy even if the lack of visitation in those final months is sad.
On the other hand, it's downright offensive to discount an 80yo of bright and vibrant mind with type 2 diabetes who could still live some beautiful years for themselves, their children and grandchildren as "would have died anyway.
Though neither died of Covid these are the descriptions of my own father and mother.

I would settle for an audit of the testing centers and labs, because I absolutely believe that all these numbers are stunningly exaggerated.
I had a client tell me yesterday that she and her husband had made an appointment to get tested a few weeks ago. When they arrived, they were told that they were going to have to wait for over an hour in their car because the center was running behind. Since neither had symptoms, They decided to just cancel the appointment and get tested if they had any issues.
2 weeks later, they get a call from the testing center saying that they had both tested positive for Covid-19.... THEY HAD NEVER BEEN TESTED
It's either exceptional incompetence at the testing center, or the center is scamming the system, or both.
I've also heard from a DHEC employee that they had actually sent 5 opened, but UNUSED tests to the lab, get the results back in a week or so, and have 2 come back positive for Covid-19.
This is happening in bumfrick South Carolina, so you bet your arse it's happening all over the place.
I will never trust these numbers

I was told by multiple doctors that 99% of everyone that legitimately died of the china virus would have have died from the flu or next illness they had anyway. They also say that people are not getting as sick from it anymore.

You can look at excess average deaths over a given year, but I have a hunch that’s probably not going to give you the answer you want.

Depends how much money you want to waste and what you're trying to convince people of with the result.

What about the people who had heart attacks and were taken to the hospital and found to have covid?

I think that this has happened to everyone's friend/relative/whatever in every city in the South.
Most of those people probably also have seen Bigfoot at least once and know of a developmentally disabled person who locked a little delivery person in a closet because they thought he was a troll.

The average age of death is on par with US life expectancy, and the number of deaths is up from last year, which leads me to believe covid is an accelerant to those with a foot already in the grave.

True
If it damages heart & lungs then there’s really no way to tell what the damage was to those organs from obesity or whatever & what damage was from Covid
I see what OP was trying to get at
Would the person have died from a heart attack within a few months or 3 years if no Covid

I've heard similar stories, but they've all been second and third hand.
What I do have personal knowledge of is that I was tested and received positive test result in early April. I had an antibody test 2 weeks ago and it came back negative. One of those tests was incorrect.
