Somebody told me that their kid saw an old floppy disc and their reaction was “oh cool - you 3D printed the save symbol”

All children should experience the joy of installing a large program with 20 floppy discs.

Or having to swap disks in the middle of a game

Will the floppy disk symbol live on longer than the floppy disk itself?
Are you saying you still use a floppy disk?
Pretty sure it’s already dead

I remember when I was 17 my gf posed for nudes and I had them all saved on a ZIP disk. It was exciting and helped me a bunch of nights. I then lost it soon after, nostalgia is real.

Actual floppy disks made you want to set the computer on fire. Hard disks were a huge upgrade

I remember when I got a new laptop when in my senior year of college and was like where the frick is the floppy disk drive. I had to buy a 256 mb USB drive to save papers and projects on and that fricker cost me about 50 or 60 bucks. We now give away 4 gb ones with out company logo on them for vendor giveaways. I just bout 2 128 gb usb drives for 25 bucks on amazon

It already has.
Crazy I think the biggest floppy disks were 2 mb.
I recently saw a 2TB micro SD card. Would take a million floppy disks to equal that storage space. Insane.

I also remember when we got a hard drive for our computer. It was a separate large thing. I think it cost $1000, and I want to say it was 2-300 floppy disks , so like 350-500mb (83-85 abouts). I also remember my parents going nuts for a $1200 chip called a Video Toaster, so they could ad screen wipes to home movies. Like 1988-91 in there sometime.
