Obviously a Subaru owner is downvoting us.

More money in SUV's for manufacturers and wagons usually have a lot of road noise.

I like the Mazda6 wagon.

I do not understand the purpose of mainstream crossovers or why people choose them over a station wagon or van.
Most mainstream crossovers absolutely suck at off roading and towing, so they are not viable alternatives to a Wrangler, 4Runner, Tahoe or Suburban.
They do not have sliding doors or flat floors so they are less useful at hauling a family around than a minivan....and most are built like minivans on a minivan chassis.
They are slightly taller than a station wagon so they are more top heavy, thus do not offer an advantage in handling or driving dynamics over a station wagon. They handle like the front drive minivans that they are.
My conclusion is that they are entirely poser vehicles. They attempt to be a jack of all trades and end up just sucking altogether. Automakers do not put much effort into their designs because they know people seem to buy any hunk of shite they build if it is a "crossover".

I learned to drive in a 73 Impala wagon. That car was a beast. It had a massive engine.

Some pretty fancy grocery getters in this thread.

Nobody wants to be considered an uncool mom or grandma. It's the reason stores like Forever 21 exist and the basis of Buick's new marketing campaign. They don't want to be labeled as an old people car. It's also the reason why less grandmothers go by grandma or maw-maw. Granny drives an old Buick Regal going 40 on the interstate with her blinker on, but Nana is rolling around town in a Buick Enclave with the windows down blasting Journey.

The new Volvos are pretty badass. Someone posted one earlier, but this is the V90 Cross Country version.
Even the sedan and normal wagon look like awesome cars.

Yeah but they don't have the "I gave up and got a mini-van stigma"
Me, I like vans and mini-vans. I don't know why conversion vans died off. Those things were bad arse. A friend had one with six captain chairs and a TV and we used to play Nintendo on the way to school in it.
Instead SUvs took over.
