to deaths from this year? I'm assuming we should have good data for at least through April of 2020. It will be telling if total April deaths for 2020 are on par with the last few years.

Hadn’t someone produced a graph with steep declines of heart attacks, diabetes related deaths and such?

I'd like to see that too.

Also, Am I the only one that thinks the number of daily tests are bullshite? 20,000 per day in LA? Who are all these people? I don't know a single person who has been tested in the last 2 months.

Well, that's only because the Covid is killing people before that stuff can get them. Of course.

JohnnyKilroy posted a link that said the amount of extra deaths basically matched the covid fatalities.

I can’t find it though

2020 deaths compared to 2017 would be a good comparison

Also, excess mortality should be looked at once time settles. Is covid causing a true excess mortality over a material period of time(people that would have lived multiple more years. Think effect of world wars)

Or is covid killing people who had little time left? Meaning after the initial surge in covid deaths, we will quickly see a drop off and less deaths than normal

I spent an hour on the CDC website and could not find the answer myself earlier today.

It’s all cases cases cases.

Nothing about daily death rates.

Which tell me they must be embarrassing for the CDC.

2021-2022 will almost assuredly have less than average deaths

Guaranteed 2020 will have less total deaths in the US than 2019.

Been saying for ages these COVID deaths aren’t additive. Sad? Yes. Protect the weak and elderly? Sure. Shutdown society and go into global panic? Not even maybe.

Thank you! Better than anything I could find.

However, that is still not detailed enough.

I’ve seen a significant uptick in amputations over the past two months. Mainly diabetics with poor glucose control and lack of wound care over the past few months, due to lack of PCP visits, wound care clinics, etc.

I searched for this the other day. Only thing I could find was data from Michigan.

They Averaged about 8,000 per month in 2019

They were have been right on average in every month except April they hit 12,000

March, May, and June to this point were normal
