I'd like to see him serve 20 instead of 40.

Apparently it does

You can write him in prison and tell him what did and did not have bearing in the decision while he does the time

Sentence will likely be close to 40

But with good behavior he will serve 3/4 of his sentence

I imagine him in jail around 25-30 years

Could he serve 60 if the judges gives him the maximum on both accounts?

I'd like to see him walk out of court on a not guilty verdict

I wonder if the state offered a manslaighter plea before trial. This had manslaighter written all over it from the beginning.

if the shooting in the back played a part it would have been murder.

Depending upon legal background, if things are not too bad in his past, he probably gets concurrent terms instead of consecutive. He'll still have a civil suit coming from the widow.

I'd like for none of this to have happened. Two families ... Kids with no fathers. Well one with a father in jail and the others with no father.

Sucks all the way around.

Didint have a consensus in the jury

Cardell would have walked in all states besides Louisiana and Oregon. That has to sting

Hard to hear jury being polled, but at least 1 juror voted no on the attempted manslaughter, manslaughter conviction. I'll seek clarity ASAP

That's what I thought would happen. Murder 2 was unlikely. Manslaughter appears appropriate in this case imo.

Welp they got it right.

Plenty of blame on all sides in involved.

Alcohol used irresponsibility can lead to liquid courage on steroids and for people to act out of character.

Unfortunately for WS he encountered someone not afraid to pull a trigger and who erroneously relied on the full benefit of Stand your ground law.

Sad all the way around. Lives of all and their families irrevocably ruined over stupidity.
