But will they move to the area as a permanent resident? Time will tell. It's hella of a lot cheaper than NYC

Yeah it’s cheaper but what would they do for work?

We don’t want you them. And I doubt they’d want to land in Louisiana. Too bad TN is saying to move there.

Sounds like quite the struggle, but thankfully for us northerners you knuckle dragging, mouth-breathing, sister fricking, neanderthals all keep your asses down there. As a native born and raised southerner I was certainly one of the lucky ones to finally escape that cult of worshiped mediocrity. Hmmm...mediocrity is probably a bit too generous, but I'll stick with it to end on a little flattery so not to come across as overly contemptuous.

That’s a lot of big words for someone who probably still says “y’all “ when they’re drunk. Leaving the South didn’t make you enlightened just more insufferable in a different area code.

Nola already has a bunch of NYC transplants. This will only accelerate it. Can't speak for the rest of the state.

No one benefits when they have Noo Yawkahs invade their state, they're as bad as vegans or crossfitters.

99% of them give the 1% a bad name.

My hope and prayer is that NY and CAL keep increasing benefits for those who live off the rest so that folks from Louisiana who work the system rather than work will migrate there.

That's the upside of Mamdani winning and being successful. He'll attract more of the undesirables from the South

I think Madmani is a good thing. Attract all the real hardcore socialists and communists to one place.

Or he will signal to Muslim migrants that the door is unlocked and Muslims from around the globe are ALL welcome to come in - while also blocking federal law enforcement of deportations with “Muslim calls to prayer” This guy is backed by shady money and shadier groups. This shite will spread like cancer..

They will if he’s able to enact higher taxes on them. Back of a napkin math has a “wealthy” NYer already paying roughly 52% effective tax rate across all levels. I can’t imagine another 5% wealth tax. I would absolutely be looking for homes in the south. The wealthiest are by far the most mobile too.

Fortunately I didn’t marry into that culture.

Lmao, no. Millionaires in NYC are not going to pick up and move to Louisiana b/c their taxes might go up 1-2%. You people are truly delusional.

Lol this happens every time one of these elections happen.

They are already paying much higher taxes to begin with, they are in New York for a reason.

These people scream and shout, just like they were going to leave the USA when Trump was elected.

Yet in the end they are still there and will do nothing.

People need to stop overreacting
