Got something in the mail today saying that its going to a collection agency. The worst part was this started out as an ER bill that was under $100 that I forgot to pay it.
Just wondering how much this will hurt me. And no im not poor, i just forgot about this.

Yes retard, an unpaid debt will hurt your credit score.
Call the hospital and try to get them to pull it back from collections and pay it.

Ignore the collection agency and send the hospital $25 a month until it’s paid off

yes, it will. Just pay it. Sounds like this is a final warning before it goes to collections. Either way, it'll hit your credit.

I did that, they said I have to go through the outside collections agency now. Havent been contacted by one yet so I have no idea whats going on.

If it's already in collections the debt is owned by the collection agency. Sending checks to the hospital would be nothing more than a donation while the credit agency will continue to harass you.

I never pay my medical bills until they threaten to send it to collections. I am always hoping insurance will cover it. If they are sending it to collections, then you owe it.

Of they've already sold it you're pretty much screwed. Pay it and move on. Be an a-hole to the collection agency and try to get them to remove it before you pay it.

Well that's just stupid, you not paying it is going to magically change your insurance plan. It's either covered or it's not.

check your credit in a few days if you do't get a call. It will likely have a name and maybe a number for the collections agency.
Sometimes they'll call and give you the option to pay it before it hits your credit, but they also fricking lie, so make sure you check your credit either way.
and you can haggle with a CA. Don't pay more than what was owed. They bought the debt for pennies on the dollar, so even just paying what you initially owed is a winner for them. But there will be "additional fees" tacked on now. Don't pay those.

seems simple enough. you owe the hospital money. you are a deadbeat. They are trying to get paid. you have to pay them thru the agency.
PAY YOUR DEBT SCUMBAG.
the rest of us don't feel like getting tagged cause you suck, are poor and irresponsible.

An unpaid any bill will hurt your credit. Unless it is to Johnny no-Thumbs for unpaid unsecured debt. In which case it will simply hurt your physical appaearance and anatomy.

I'm not sure what's funny about you being a scum on society and not paying for the services you were rendered. The hospital had to sell your debt for probably 20% of what it's worth because you were irresponsible and essentially stealing.

tagged with what? it's a $70 bill and the CA has paid the hospital for it. They prob gave them $20 and the hospital moved on.
