Just think back to what the first 2 births were like. This'll be like that.

What hospital are you at? I had a friend just give birth and she was allowed one person in the room so she had her husband in there. Did she pick Jody instead of you?

What were y'all doing in the hospital parking lot? Just hanging out?

JK congrats on the sex and very little sleep for the next 8 months. My kids are one of the biggest blessings I've ever received in my entire life.

ETA I just read this is your 3rd. You know the drill, then. Here's to a happy and healthy baby and momma

HIPAA requires that if your wife asks for a health advocate to be present, they must let one be.

People’s constitutional rights are being trampled during this virus. HIPAA requirements aren’t likely to hold water now, either.

No offense to the OP, but they would’ve had to haul me away in handcuffs before I’d of let my wife alone for the birth of our child.

Hospital won't let me in. Won't tell us when I can go in.

I don't know why you're whining. They typically only let the father in.

Hopefully they will let you in when they confirm the membranes are ruptured and she is committed to labor (could be different if she is <34 weeks and has a Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) situation where either she is not in labor, or will not be induced for a while, ie once she is >34 weeks of shows signs of labor, infection or fetal compromise).

In my hospital system, one support person is allowed once it is established that the patient is in labor or has a condition necessitating delivery. They are not letting in support persons until evaluation is complete.

Hope that is the same for you and your wife.

Thanks for sharing this. Can you say which hospital system you’re in?

That would have been great information other than telling me I need to go sit in the parking lot as they were taking her back.

Respectfully I am going to have to decline...I do not want anything I post being construed as speaking for that particular entity.

Would you like to publicly post exactly what company you work for on here?

ETA: my hospital lets one support person in for a woman in labor. Each hospital is different though. Some don’t let any visitors in at all.
